Chuseok Starts Today at Namsangol Hanok Village — A 3-Day Seoul Festival of Pansori, Hanbok and Tradition
Sep. 25–27 · Namsangol Hanok Village · 10 AM–8 PM · Free entry; some activities and food cost extra
If you are in Seoul for Chuseok, one of the most useful cultural events for international visitors starts today. Namsan Moonlight Yard turns Namsangol Hanok Village into a three-day holiday festival with Korean traditional music, craft experiences, hanbok and daenggi hair styling, traditional games and Chuseok food.
Why go today
September 25 is Chuseok Day itself. Today’s program overlaps with the 4th World Pansori Festival, while the village also presents holiday rituals and evening traditional music. Programs change by day, so check the official timetable if a particular performance matters to you.
Admission and booking
General festival admission is free. Some hands-on programs and food are paid, and selected craft experiences use advance booking or limited same-day availability. Do not assume every activity is walk-in.
Getting there
Nearest station: Chungmuro Station, Lines 3 and 4, Exit 4; about a five-minute walk.
Address: 28 Toegye-ro 34-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul.
Parking: There is no dedicated visitor parking, so subway access is the practical option.
Why it works for travelers
The village is close to Myeongdong and Namsan, making it easy to add to a central-Seoul itinerary. It is also unusually useful today because many businesses operate on holiday schedules, while this festival is specifically designed around Chuseok and runs until 8 PM.
