FJTJBSI Dresser Recall: 9,000 Amazon Units Pulled for Tip-Over Risk — Check These Model Codes

HOME SAFETY · RECALL

A six-drawer dresser sold on Amazon is now under a U.S. safety recall after failing the mandatory stability standard for clothing storage furniture. About 9,000 FJTJBSI units are affected, and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says an unanchored dresser can tip over and trap a child, creating a risk of serious injury or death.

The recall was announced September 10, 2026. No injuries have been reported, but owners should check the model code before continuing to use the dresser.

What was recalled?

The recall covers FJTJBSI-branded wooden six-drawer dressers sold in black and white. They measure roughly 27.6 inches wide, 15.1 inches deep and 42.2 inches high, weigh about 68 pounds, and use silver or black handles.

Check these two model codes

The identifying code is printed on the product packaging. The affected black dresser is marked LBS-XD-4-2-BLK-023; the white version is marked LBS-XD-4-2-WIT-024.

Why a dresser can become a serious home-safety issue

The problem is stability. CPSC says these dressers are unstable when they are not anchored to a wall and violate the mandatory safety requirements established under the STURDY Act. A child climbing on or pulling open drawers can shift the center of gravity forward, allowing an unsecured unit to tip.

This is why furniture anchoring should not be treated as an optional finishing detail in homes with children. But anchoring alone does not cancel a recall: if your model is included, follow the recall instructions rather than relying only on a wall strap.

What owners should do now

1. Check the model code.
Look for LBS-XD-4-2-BLK-023 or LBS-XD-4-2-WIT-024 on the packaging.

2. If it is not anchored, stop using it immediately.
Move it somewhere children cannot access.

3. Request the refund.
CPSC instructs consumers to contact FJTJBSI for a full refund.

4. Follow the disposal proof process.
Owners are asked to write “RECALLED” on the dresser with permanent marker, photograph it, submit the photo to the recall contact and then dispose of the product.

The larger takeaway

Online furniture can look like a low-risk purchase compared with an appliance or electrical product, but tall storage furniture has its own safety requirements. For dressers, wardrobes and TV storage units, stability certification and wall anchoring deserve the same attention as dimensions, finish and price—especially in homes with young children.

If you own this FJTJBSI model, the practical priority is simple: identify the code, keep children away from an unsecured unit and follow the official refund instructions.
