Start in Myeongdong

From Oct. 1–8, the Welcome Center near Myeongdong Station Exit 6 offers tourism information and interpretation alongside cultural programs. It is useful early in a trip when routes and bookings are still being organized.

Use heritage benefits by neighborhood

Free access covers 12 major heritage sites, with discounts at more than 110 partner facilities. Pair benefits with one area instead of crossing the city: palaces with Jongno, traditional culture with Insadong, or central Seoul with Myeongdong.

Seoul Culture Lounge

The 11th floor of the Samil Building near Cheonggyecheon hosts hands-on Korean culture programs and pairs easily with Jongno, Euljiro or the Outdoor Library.

Payment and language

International cards are widely accepted in major tourist districts. English support is strongest at official welcome points; smaller workshops may still run mainly in Korean, so check the booking language first.

TRAVEL TAKEAWAY
Welcome Week matters because it reduces friction rather than adding another attraction — especially useful during the first two days of a Seoul trip.
