SEOULDAL’s Chuseok Event Starts Today — A Full-Moon Night Experience 130m Above Seoul
Dates Sep. 24–Oct. 5, 2026 · Where SEOULDAL, Yeouido Park · Holiday event hours 3–9 PM · Event admission Free; balloon rides are separately ticketed
If you are spending Chuseok in Seoul, one of the most time-sensitive evening options starts today in Yeouido. ‘Wishes Under SEOULDAL’ combines Seoul’s 130-meter tethered balloon with full-moon photo installations, traditional Korean games and a wish tree for the holiday period.
What is happening this Chuseok
From Sep. 24–27, the free ground-level program includes giant yutnori, a wish-tree activity and traditional-game experiences. You do not need a SEOULDAL ticket to join. The program changes after the holiday, with SEOULDAL-themed timer and roulette games running through Oct. 5.
Booking the balloon
The balloon ride is separate from the free event. Adult admission is KRW 25,000, and advance booking is recommended. The flight itself takes about 15 minutes, with additional time for safety preparation. Flights can be delayed or cancelled because of wind or weather, so check same-day operating status before traveling across Seoul.
Getting there
SEOULDAL is inside Yeouido Park. The official guide lists it about 740m from Yeouido Station Exit 3 and about 592m from National Assembly Station Exit 3. For a first-time visitor, it pairs easily with The Hyundai Seoul and an evening walk along the Han River.
Why it matters now
International travelers already account for 48.4% of SEOULDAL riders in 2026 through August, according to the Seoul Tourism Organization. With many Seoul attractions operating on special Chuseok schedules, this is a useful holiday-night option that is both distinctly Seoul and easy to add to a central itinerary.
Tip: The free Chuseok program runs 3–9 PM during Sep. 24–27. SEOULDAL itself operates later, with Friday and Saturday hours extended to 11 PM through October. International booking channels include major OTAs such as Klook, KKday and Trip.com.
